How can 5 years have gone by? I know I'll be saying the same in another 13 after high school graduation, too. As much as I try to savor every minute, they mount up so fast. Pre-K graduation, caps and gowns, seems so grown up! He was pretty excited about it all, though. The coolest thing to me was that the teacher had put together two small photo albums of pictures throughout the year for the parents. Sweet.
Mindful today that it all goes by way to fast even when you ARE stopping to smell the roses.
I just can't believe how grown up he is looking all of a sudden. He looks completely and totally happy and carefree, and isn't that the way it should be for a boy? And aren't you the reason for a lot of that?
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed seeing these photos again. I don't remember the one of him walking with his dad on fb. That's a sweet one. Those little bare legs sticking out of the gown. Too cute.
ReplyDeleteSpend every possible moment that you can with him. Take it from me, you'll miss these days a lot. Phillip will be in 3rd grade this fall and yesterday he showed us how to make the word "hell" appear on the calculator. On the other hand, last week when I had an outing with him he wanted to go to Build A Bear....so there's still a little boy in there. It's all fun and interesting and I love it.

The caps and gowns are so cute, but they do seem to make the transition a little more poignant and dramatic.
ReplyDeleteThese posts always make me a little weepy. My daughter's only eleven months old and I already wonder where the time has gone. What am I going to do when she's five? Or fifteen? Or thirty?!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations (a bit belated!) to you and your little graduate!
